Jan Marini C-ESTA Cleansing Gel – All Skin Types

Suitability, performance and superiority of this product against other options are only guaranteed when prescribed.

Containing DAE Complex with Ascorbyl Palmitate.

Jan Marini C-ESTA Cleansing Gel – All Skin Types

C-ESTA Cleansing Gel containing DAE Complex is a newly developed cleansing technology that compliments the use of C-ESTA facial products. C-ESTA Cleansing Gel produces a luxurious lather that is suitable for any skin type from oily to dry or extremely sensitive. C-ESTA Cleansing Gel also encourages a noticeably softer, smoother, more refined skin texture. Because of the activity of our lipid soluble Vitamin C, along with the other components of the DAE Complex, C-ESTA Gel Cleanser is a potent skin conditioner and aids in preparing the skin to be more receptive to the application of other C-ESTA products. It is also an excellent cleanser for use after chemical peels, CO2 Laser resurfacing or when cleansers containing glycolic acid may not be appropriate.

Relieving an Itchy Scalp or Scalp Acne

Itchy scalp and scalp acne appear to have become more commonplace over the last decade, either due to a simple increase in concern of these conditions or changes in the way we care for our hair and scalp.

Some of the causes of an itchy scalp or scalp acne may be easily relieved.

  • If you've been washing your hair daily in an attempt to control the problem, try washing it only every other or every third day. If this brings relief, you may be allergic to one or more ingredients in your shampoo, or the formula may simply be too stripping.
    • If you need to wash your hair daily, switch to a milder shampoo that doesn't aggress your scalp, this can prevent dermatitis responsible for itching and excess sebum leading to acne.
  • Try a shampoo which doesn't contain sodium laureth sulfate – an increasing number of people seem to react to this ingredient, or perhaps its combined properties of being both alkaline, surfactant and over used.
  • Use an appropriate gel based facial cleanser in place of shampoo, such as Jan Marini Bioclean or C-ESTA Cleanser. Users suffering from an itchy scalp or scalp acne report these two products, suitable for sensitive, oily skin with or without areas of dryness, leave their hair and scalp clean and soothed.
  • Obtain an appointment for our professional salicylic acid scalp treatment, zinc and titanium based scalp deep cleansing, or a prescription retinoid like Retin-A. (Do not use salicylic acid and retinol at the same time).
  • Always dry the hair thoroughly after washing to avoid chapping and the development of yeasts and scalp acne bacteria – use a hair dryer, or weather permitting towel try hair well and go for a walk.

Jan Marini C-ESTA Serum vs. Skinceuticals C E Ferulic

Skinceuticals C E Ferulic     Jan Marini C-ESTA Serum

I was wondering if you could tell me the difference between Jan Marini C-ESTA Serum and Skin Ceuticals C E Ferulic acid?

Plus which one would be better for a younger skin in their early 20's?

Jan Marini C-ESTA Serum contains ascorbyl palmitate and deanol and Skinceuticals C E Ferulic contains ascorbic acid, tocopherol and ferulic acid.

It should be noted that there are some concerns over the safety and suitability of large concentrations of ascorbyl palmitate and deanol.

In recent times, some manufacturers have removed or replaced ascorbyl palmitate from their products.

This includes the "Ester-C" products marketed by Dr. Nicholas Perricone's N.V. Perricone Cosmeceuticals, from which Jan Marini C-ESTA is said to be derived.

Skinceuticals C E Ferulic is a more effective protective product in theory however most people use oxidized versions of Vitamin C products which are useless or possibly harmful.

It was once thought that ascorbyl palmitate was more stable than ascorbic acid, however testing has confirmed that in fact both are inherently prone to considerable oxidation, therefore the claimed shelf-life and superior antioxidant advantage of Jan Marini C-ESTA over Skinceuticals C E Ferulic and similar products may not actually exist.

It is true that Jan Marini C-ESTA Cream is less prone to discolouration (oxidation) when refrigerated so it seems likely it is not stable.

People generally report more immediate skin firming with Jan Marini C-ESTA than Skinceuticals C E Ferulic however long-term firming results are likely to be different.

Skinceuticals C E Ferulic may irritate sensitive skin and stimulate acne in prone individuals while Jan Marini C-ESTA is generally well-tolerated.

If you'd like to try using a Vitamin C product, rather than use either of these, it is better to start with Alyria Antioxidant Capsules, the 10% Vitamin C content of which does not oxidize prior to use by virtue of a combination of formulation and packaging, and which is gentle enough to safely and comfortably test suitability on virtually any skin type or condition.

For additional advice it would be best to ask actual users including specialists at: http://www.derm.net.au/discussions/.
