I need some advice on the best course of action to manage a facial skin problem.
I am 30 years old and as a teenager I had clear, acne-free skin.
In my late 20s I developed repeated pimples/acne around my mouth and chin area.
These became so bad that I now have scarring.
A dermatologist put me on the antibiotic Tetrex, which clears the skin from breakouts when I am on it, but as soon as I stop taking the medication, they return.
The symptoms start very deep under the skin with a tingling, itchy and sometimes hot feeling. They then swell to become quite large, red and painful, with a hard lump inside them.
Sometimes they break the surface and when this occurs, they heal very slowly.
I have heard that there is a laser treatment that could help, however I know nothing about it.
Hormonal acne can be addressed with products that keep the skin's surface and pores clear to allow an uninterrupted flow of oil and contact with the oxygen-rich environment.
Hormonal acne bacteria cannot survive when exposed to oxygen and will only ferment, causing acne, when follicular and surface build up protect them.
The prescription for hormonal acne is as follows:
