Enhancing Absorption and Penetration of Topical Vitamin C

Enhancing the absorption and penetration of skin care products containing topical Vitamin C, such as Jan Marini C-ESTA, Skinceuticals C E Ferulic and a range of other formulations from IS Clinical, is easy and leads to improvements in:

  • firmness;
  • skin texture;
  • skin tone;
  • colouring.

To achieve improved absorption:

  1. Always ensure skin is free of stifling dead skin cells by making regular use of an evenly acting and thorough exfoliating product containing either one or more of glycolic, salicylic acid or proteolytic enzymes.
  2. If using topical Vitamin C during the day, try applying the Vitamin C, waiting 30 seconds to one minute, then applying an appropriate exfoliating product on top (see below) before finishing with a moisturizer/sunscreen (see below).

These recommendations are especially helpful in improving wear in those individuals with very oily, very dry or sensitive skin.

Recommended protocols for improved absorption of topical Vitamin C (AM and/or PM)

C-ESTA Serum + Bioclear Lotion + Age Intervention Cream/Serum and/or Antioxidant Daily Face Protectant SPF 30.
